Thoughts on Writing

Writing is the most intimate affair.

I have seen poets experience the pain in the Missing posters

I have seen lovers going back to their broken hearts

I saw a neglected child talk about his failed childhood

I have heard an insomniac describe the most beautiful parts of a dark night

We don’t become writers when we start writing

We become writers when we start thinking.

Writing requires a lot of courage

A courage to take a peek into our absurdities

To examine our own wounds

To stare into our own abyss.

When we write we pick our own pieces

And mold them into words.
