Old School Love
Bring me the love that Imroz had for Amrita
Bring me the love that doesn’t give butterflies
But the one that’ll make me feel peaceful just like the evening twilight
Love that feels like the perfect equilibrium of warmth and heat brought by the first rays of sunlight
I don’t want 3 am conversations for it’s easier to fill that nocturnal silence with words
And because I have realized that they are forgotten by the time it’s 3 pm the next day
Instead, I’d want words that feel like a much-needed lemonade on a rather hot day
That seems like the only relief in the midst of a chaotic life
I don’t want to hear, ‘let’s take it slow and let’s see where it goes’
Instead, let’s talk about how we can heal each other soon so that we can fall in love faster
I want a love that will not become a victim of a blue-ticks argument
But the one that flourishes with hand-written notes and long letters
I am not looking for a love where we could die for each other
I am looking for something that could make us stay by each other’s side while we are still alive
For death is a sweet escape but life, Life is a long tumultuous ride.
For there’s a love that’s more than drunken kisses, long-rides, and overnight conversations
The one that becomes poetry, art and more than anything else
A hope for the broken heart, for the ones who have lost faith.
