Firsts
To the one who remembers the first love,
I know that first glance, first heart beat skipped and that first kiss is all too intoxicating to forget. When we talk about our firsts, the first thought is always about our first love.
However, all our firsts are memorable. For they are the beginning of something new and end of something old. Do you remember the first time you heard a poem and fell in love with each and every word of it? Do you remember the first time you tasted coffee and thought to yourself, ‘how have I stayed alive without this’
Do you remember the fragrance of the soil after the first shower? Do you remember the first time you went on a trip and saw a world that is different from yours?
Do you remember how wonderful it felt the first time you did something that went onto become your hobby, your passion for the rest of your life?
Our firsts are underestimated I think. For they change us, they grapple us with feelings and emotions that can never be experienced again. For those firsts, never come for the second time. For our firsts, never get a second chance.
