I ask, how will we move, however slowly it may be, with one foot out the door.
Who falls in love so hard and fast,
What if I hurt you someday, they ask
Don’t promise me future, promise me now, I say.
Don’t promise me not to hurt nor promise me love, just promise me yourself.
I don’t want to get hurt, they say.
Why nobody taught them that love enters through the cracks.
why do people think I ask too much
why do they think I ask too soon.
Why are my unconditional offerings mistaken for asking too much?
Why is my willingness to give my own time seen as asking too soon?
I wonder why people think so much,
And feel so less.
If you are loved the right way, you come out softer.
If you are loved the wrong way, you come out stronger.
What do we have here then to lose?
Let’s take one day at a time, they say
How I wish they understood that taking it one day at a time does not mean waiting until the right moment arrives
It just means to surrender in the here and now.
How I wish they knew that taking the leap or taking the dive does not mean a free fall in the depths of uncertainty
It just means flying high to reach out for the abundance that promises eternity.
