Alive
They say life is all about moments
Moments of happiness, love and meaningful connections
We assume these moments are supposedly extraordinary
For me, they came caped in the ordinariness of everyday moments
I felt happiest while brewing that morning cup of coffee just looking at your face.
I felt most loved when you hugged me the second time on a Friday night and lovingly whispered, ‘I love you’ instead of saying, ‘bye’
I felt most connected to the world during our conversations on our walks to the station
I felt most overwhelmed and happy when I entered the gates and saw people who appeared like distant paradise and home, all at once.
I felt most magical while listening to a song I had never heard before, in front of the chapel where I went looking for beauty but found peace instead.
And looking back I wonder how extraordinary were these seemingly ordinary moments.
Telegraph says your life flashes before your eyes right before you die, right before you close your eyes for the one last time.
I realized that I am slowly but steadily recording my flashback film in these moments that I’d like to see before I die,
I realized that we are all greeting each other before we say the final goodbye,
I realized that before we leave we are all supposed to feel alive.
